Fasting - Powerful Strategy for Healing the Gut

Our ancestors have fasted for centuries whether for religious reasons or most likely due to lack of food.
Our bodies are designed to use stored food for energy, to restore our bodily functions, restore and rejuvenate our cells and organs to function properly as well as rid the body of toxins.
Digesting food takes a lot of energy from the body and contrary to what you may think, fasting dramatically increases energy levels since the body isn’t burdened by digesting food all day. Professor Longo, the foremost researcher on fasting states, “Without the burden of digesting, the gut is able to heal from conditions like IBS, leaky gut and other severe inflammation driven conditions like Crohn’s and colitis.”
When fasting, your system doesn’t have to work at digesting anything, it allows your cells to rest and repair.
Fasting for 16-18 hours each day may sound crazy, right? Actually, it’s much easier than you think, I have been practicing this lifestyle for years. By having my breakfast for lunch, breakfast is my favorite meal of the day, and dinner at 6 or so, I’m able to fast for 17 hrs. without any problems.
Intermittent fasting has allowed people to heal their gut, reclaim their energy and down regulate chronic cellular inflammation, which applies to most modern health disorders including autoimmune disease, obesity and diabetes, hormone challenges. Plus it also has anti-aging benefits, along with easing menopause and more.
